Coconut milk is squeezed from fresh coconuts to produce a full flavoured and smooth milk ideal for both savoury and sweet dishes. A tin is the equivalent of squeezing approximately 3 coconuts at home.

The base of many Indonesian, Malaysian and Thai dishes, coconut milk is made by squeezing the grated flesh of a coconut with hot water resulting in a rich white liquid that looks very much like cow’s milk. The colour and rich taste of the milk can be attributed to the high oil content.

We import the finished product from our suppliers in Sri Lanka, MA’s Foods, who are not only committed to producing quality products but also to the sustainability of the environment and the betterment of the community they work with.

My coconut milk has separated, is this a problem?

No, this happens to all coconut milk in cold climates. If cooking, then empty the contents into the hot pan and the coconut milk will simply melt like butter into the rest of your mix.

If using half of the can for your recipe, empty the contents into a re-sealable dish, measure out half and refrigerate the rest. If you need as a liquid then just put it through a blender. Whatever way you chose, be assured that it will taste as delicious as when it was sealed.
